Poor dog! Those hills are no joke. Are you the poster who lives near Krepps park? |
|
The People's Republic of Soviet Elrichistan, no doubt!
Montgomery County is the new Venezuela! Run by the politburo (MoCo Council) and Dear Leader (Marx Elrich)! The Revolutionary Vanguard lives on! /s |
Look, I voted for David Blair both times as well but I fail to see how he could have prevented this one guy from ODing in a park in Bethesda. And you don’t need open primaries, you need ranked choice voting. |
and just wait until it is one of their kids or a friend's kid that we are reading about but they all believe, nope, not my kid. |
It's all Mayor Ehrlich's fault, if you ask me. |
We need something different. Because what’s happening now is not working. Between Mark, Ehrlich, and the council it’s just too homogenous of a group. We need different people with different ideas. We need less yes people and more diverse thought I’ve always said it. It’s never good to have a single party rule. |
With the ODs at BCC and WJ within the past year, I think everyone knows this now. |
they still deny it, you should hear people talk, oh that kid wasn't raised properly, that kid ran with the wrong crowd, if they weren't under so much pressure, they are off mentally etc etc. I speak as a parent of a child who is in recovery. |
Whatever "Mark, Ehrlich, and the council" are, a homogeneous group they aren't. |
People reassuring themselves that this won't happen to them.
I'm sorry, PP. I wish you and your child the best. |
+1000. What supposedly gave Bethesda such a better quality of life 20 years ago? |
Same |
NP. I do hate that these threads always devolve into socially or politically motivated finger pointing. Neither "ODs happen because of the Democrats!" nor "What about West Virginia!" either 1) represent what's actually going on in the country with overdoses or 2) seem like they come from a place of actual concern for people who are dying. It's all just point scoring. |
my quality of life has risen over the last 20yrs thanks to all the development in Moco. Bethesda is fantastic city. In theory, you would never need to head into DC if you didn't want to. 20 years ago it was definitely quieter, but there wasn't much going on. I still prefer old bethesda vs bethesda row |
I agree that Mark & Ehrlich are to blame. Also Suzie. |
