Stars (girls side), takeover and Durant are all Nike sponsored so they get better as you get to high school. I can’t speak to boys, but on the girls side, pvt and glp are what I call the bottom of the decent clubs. I’d put hurricanes and elevate elite between the two tiers

How do you determine that ranking? DD plays for a different AAU team and all those teams above readily beat us. It was a couple of years ago. I felt the caliber of those clubs was impressive.

Yes. Nike is the top circuit followed by Adidas and Under Armor is third.

This is good info thanks. I did not know that Elevate Elite was part of the Adidas circuit and became such a prominent program in high school.

Their elevate 16u team is the best in the area for that age group.

Any insight on a good mid level AAU team for a rising 7th grade boy? We are in Alexandria. Currently does county travel but looking to get to a more competitive group.

Each of these top programs like Fairfax Stars, Elevate, Durant, and Takeover are like independent franchises with each age group on the girls side. Different coaches, different players with different skill sets, and different W/L records. This is the same at all age groups. For example, like someone said ffx stars 2029 is very very good and ffx 2028 not so much. T Durant 2028 is very good, but T Durant 2029 isn't. So I would pick based on who the coach is for your team and how they fit in with the kids.

Very true. But overall the rankings in previous post is a good barometer. But just remember. The higher up the totem pole, the more ruthless it gets.

OP here - thanks for all of the info. Sounds like it is very age group dependent so if you get good coaching and you are at any of these listed clubs you should be in good shape.
