I wasn't aware of the feeders. Given how well they were doing in math contests, I assumed they were feeding into Longfellow, Carson, or Cooper.
It may have been they won because of this one kid, who moved to another state.

It sounds like the school makes it hard for parents to get involved? How is the PTA situation?

The PTA always needs help, both officers and volunteers. I have volunteered for specific things and had a good experience.
I am not sure what PP was referring to re: parent involvement being difficult - when my kid was younger I went and read in the classroom a couple times, and there is good turnout at school events.
