Going from mom+nanny to PK3 - thoughts?

Anonymous
In 2021, post-covid, my 2yo (Sept birthday) started PK3 after only being home with parents and grandparents. I was really worried it would be too much for him. He walked away from us without a second look and really thrived. We decided to stagger schedules that year and skip aftercare and I think that was the right choice. They'll surprise you!

We got a spot at one of the top pre-k public schools and didn't take it. I just wasn't ready for all day school and to give up our time together. I worked but had an alternate schedule. So had days off to spend for the zoo or other outings. Anyway, child is heading to college and I not only never regretted it, I still miss it.

This is so sweet and makes me question my choice to send kiddo to PK3. What did your kid do on the days you worked? private preschool? I know there's one in DC where he could go every other morning...

Your child will cry at drop off. And be fine a few minutes after you leave. Provided you act confident in the adults in the building.
