Who could realistically succeed Eleanor Holmes Norton in Congress?

Case closed.

I see this as well.

Oh I hope not. Does Eleanor even like her?? I will never vote for Bowser. Ever.

It would be wonderful to see Bowser deploy her considerable skills at doing absolutely nothing in a role which has absolutely no serious responsibilities whatsoever. Then the city could elect an executive with a semblance of vision.

People (rightfully) complain about a lack of a vote, but there are plenty of other services Congressional offices provide that hers completely drops the ball on.

For all the talk about representation there seems to be a depressingly little focus on how unresponsive the people we currently elect to represent us are.

Ya know, I hate to pile on here but this was actually true in our case. I don’t want to go into any detail, but my family did once reach out to her with a constituent issue (we are all DC residents) and yes, we were completely ghosted. Totally ignored. I was stunned.

I haven’t voted for her since.

So interesting. We had the exact opposite experience. We’re in NW DC and her staff came through with flying colors on a timely, complicated matter.

Are you white?

NP, white woman here. She's a PIG. So corrupt and ignorant, dirty as can be.

Yes but how would they know that and why would it matter?

Eleanor and DC government only serve blacks and hispanics.

Never, ever will it happen.

Bowser hoped for that position but not so sure now as it's like looking like DC will ever become a state.

No one wants the job. It’s a terrible job that pays very little compared to what those would actually be good at it and want it would be paid somewhere else.

Andrew Auerbach would be a good replacement. He has been on HPRB for years and is close to Frumin and Cheh.

I think they’re friends. In fact, Eleanor might even endorse one of her former staff members

Who is he? Any relation to Red Auerbach?

Is this a joke?

I am a white woman in Ward 3 and have only had positive experiences with her office.

To the PP who is rudely calling her a PIG - explain yourself. This is now the 3rd time you have been asked to do so.

Wondering how PP can call someone corrupt who has no vote. What exactly is the leverage she would have to sell if tat is what you are implying? Her office writes funky letters to people all day long.
