Jet lag will or won't happen. You can't control that, but you can control your expectations, and your current ones are way too high. |
Even if people are operating on a 3 am -3 pm schedule, it will only be for a few days and they are old enough to power through the fatigue. If they need to catch naps or be exhausted for dinner, it's ok. |
Have you traveled with your family that involved jet-lag before? Our family has a day or two of exhaustion - we use those early few days to ease into our location. We do maintain a meal/sleep on location time as best as possible, but that does have to be nudged each day. Adapting to your time zone and location as well as your travelers is the key to our family enjoying trips together. |
We each have to do what works. I wrote earlier that we do the exact opposite thing. Our first day is always packed, so that we are not tempted to sleep at the wrong time. Once we're on the right time schedule, we can ease off a bit, because no one wants to go to bed at 3:00 PM. |
