04/21/2008 14:44: Are you saying you are on the Norwood wait list and haven't heard anything? Wondering if we are getting the straight scoop from the school!
Being on the waitlist does not necessarily mean that the school would like to admit the child. Oftentime waitlist = soft rejection. So perhaps Norwood (and other schools) have exhausted their waitlist from the sense that they have actually admitted those from the waitlist that they really wanted. |
That may be the case, but it really underlines the dishonesty of the practice. Also, we were told at Norwood that the wait list was "real." (Of course, I have yet to hear a school rep say that his/her school's waitlist is a fiction, even though many seem to be just that.)
PP here: We are not on the wait list, BTW, so I don't know what the school is or is not doing.
Does anyone know how many spots they have open?
There seems to be so much confusion about waitlists, schools are accepting late applications and available spots- why don't people just call these schools.I think that the entire admissions process is constantly in flux and it is best to get your information directly from the source.
All the AD's seem to be reading these posts, why do they answer select questions and not all?
Anyone gotton off the K waitlist at Sidwell, anyone know anything?
Didn't you get an email from them recently asking if you want to remain on the wait list?
When did you get the email, what did it say and who was it from, I never got it?
I think you should just call/email Shelly J. and ask her to update you on the status of the waiting list. She's very nice.
I never got an email either, when did you get it?
Does anyone know when this went out and what it said and has anyone gotten in off the Sidwell waitlist?
It asked if we would like to stay on the wait list. It was a week or two ago.
Call the school and ask. I've found Shelly to be very straightforward.
