Paying tutors with VA grant

The school systems were notified by DOE and they were responsible for notifying students. My friends who are teachers applied right away and got funding! My son attends Catholic school so I only found out reading this forum but I applied next day and was quickly approved.

It’s now fairly easy to sign up via outschool and varsity tutors. Sylvan learning and Mathnasium also approved for using grant money and some locations set up special rates and limited time programs not requiring long commitment.

My son has been attending Mathnasium summer program with very good results (and he enjoys going)!

So you agree it was not well advertised. Because it wasn’t. Sigh. More money of our own to spend post Covid.

Bump. Besides individual tutors, what other options are approved vendors?

I heard about Mathnasium, Outschool, Kumon. Any others?

Commonwealth Tutoring is a REALLY good one, several families are talking about it. They're at www.commonwealthtutoring.org

Of course it’s easy to sign up for tutoring via outside of school, if you have the $$$ to pay for it out of pocket if you didn’t know about the grant or you weren’t awarded one.
