Paying tutors with VA grant

Anonymous
We got a grant and we have a tutor. I think they are registered now but it took them a few weeks.

Has anyone successfully paid their tutor? From what date are tutoring services eligible? Can I submit receipts from the date we received the grant, which is before the tutor completed their steps to be a vendor? Do I have to wait for when they were a vendor?

We want to make sure we use half of the funds by August so we don't lose them but it's been complicated to get it all set up with our tutor.

No because the online system is not working for my tutor and she keeps calling and email and getting no response

Yes, I submitted an invoice to pay our tutor, and got a message last week that she has been paid.

I'm guessing that you can't submit receipts for services rendered before the tutor was approved for payment in the system. I'd send an email to the address on the website or in ClassWallet, though, to be sure.

We are also still having issues with the online system. A few calls have been placed but haven't received a response.

We have a tutor in mind and are trying to get her on the list. This process certainly isn't easy and it would have been nice if it was more widely shared. For some reason, I don't think kids who really need the services are getting them.

did you get a message that your tutor had been paid or that it had been approved? We have had numerous invoices 'approved' but nothing has actually been paid yet.

I found the process on the tutor side to be pretty easy. I submitted the preliminary application and within a week I was approved and set up my class wallet account.

I'd go ahead and submit all of your invoices regardless of when the tutor was approved and see what happens.

Oh, wow. I double-checked, and the invoice was just approved, not paid.

When were you awarded the grant. I applied a month ago and was rejected because they already gave out all the ones they were giving for our area.

I submitted application May 1st and got the award May 23rd.

Has this been working for everyone who received a grant?

What a cluster. Remember not to vote for a Republican who claims to be an Education Governor.

Yes! But my tutor company had to submit a proper invoice with dates of tutoring, description of service, etc. and I submitted after those dates of service. The invoice was approved within a week and the vendor was paid 2 weeks later. Easy!

Does the company need to submit one one? I submitted one from my tutor but didn't see anything about my tutor having to submit one too. Or do you mean your tutor gave one to you?
