How to achieve that neat clean look rich people have?

It's not a $300 haircut or tailored everything, its just being attractive and not look like a hooker. That’s it. Wear modest clothing as an attractive person and people think you’re rich.

How do you know that people think you're wealthier than you are?

Like real estate agents. They never look in person like the picture on their signs.

If you look at pictures from “society” functions (ie, charity events, opening nights, etc) you’ll see that rich people look a little more normal in candid shots.

Looking at pictures from the NY social diary. My observation still holds:

Huh, I thought I knew what you meant but those pics look extremely normal to me. The lighting on the bottom one is good and making people's skin look nice - but they look like very regular people otherwise. To me!

I think good haircut, good products, regularly refreshing your wardrobe, tailoring clothes so they fit you better - those will all help. I certainly haven't cracked the code but I feel a little more rich person shiny since I started doing some of those things.

I’m a nanny and look like I have money, which is hilarious to me. It’s mostly because my former employers have all given me their hand me down ysl and prada handbags and clothes. I have taken after my employers and wear a simple capsule wardrobe at work and people always think I’m the parent. I am European, so I hang dry and iron everything, so my clothes last longer and always look crisp. I wear fitted clothes like most Europeans so things have a tailored look and don’t look sloppy.

That second pic looks a little worse for the wear. Definitely nothing especially sleek and clean etc.

Listen, I would typically not comment on someone’s appearance because this woman is perfectly lovely. But she looks like … anyone .

+2 she looks fine but honestly there is a lot of photo shopping for these kinds of pix and even looks like any flyaway hairs would have been cropped out bc it was pasted on a fake background.

The answer is what PPs are saying

Professional haircuts, color, blowouts on a good schedule
Dermatologist and good skin care routine
Tailoring clothes
Always driving or being driven to events
Right level of makeup
Delicate jewelry that's real precious metals or stones

This was me pre-kids! Now I am behind on all these appts and never have enough time to get ready in the morning, ha.

The clothes look like nice quality but that's the only thing that stands out. Get regular haircuts and coloring, maybe focus on skin care.

PS I'm sure the man from the McKinsey headshot would be so flattered to be used as an example in this chain!

I’m rich and live in a very wealthy area. I promise you, there is a wide range. Many rich people look just as grumpy and frazzled and over extended as any other group.

She looks like Maura Tierney. She looks lovely.

The aesthetic we’re all describing is very white. And it’s all about the tailoring and the hair.

Very white and very nondescript. Again, she’s lovely. Not a thing wrong with her or her appearance. And I would also never notice anything about her if I saw her or remember anything about her. Maybe that’s the look OP is wanting - just a sort of pleasantly bland generic look that doesn’t really stand out?

How sad you aspire to this “aesthetic”
