I like Anguilla better. T&C is a step up from usual spots but I think people grade it on a curve. |
Ambergris Cay is a resort in Turks and Caicos on a small island near Providenciales. https://www.ambergriscay.com/ PP, I have stayed here - what would you like to know? |
Agree, but I enjoyed both with DH. But it’s gorgeous beaches and pretty nice dining, not much else. Great for relaxing and sex. I think my teens would be bored after 2-3 days. YMMV. |
I wouldn't want to stay there. It's beautiful and calm but boring and isolated. My DH went to Taylor Bay one day and I didn't go. Stay in a more populated area or at least on a resort property. There are (pricier) more isolated resorts. Driving is fine if you are up for more lawless roads (and on the other side...so get used to that). Be VERY aware and don't even think about drinking and driving (I mean 1 drink...you need to be alert). Stick to the trafficked areas. Yes, the man who was killed last year was near a resort (we went there) but he was off by a few blocks and things change real quick on islands. I'd visit Taylor Bay during the day, but not stay there. |
My teens love it but they always are allowed to bring a friend. There is golf, boat tours, snorkeling, all the things one typically does in the carribean. |
Grace Bay beaches is very safe. Some of the best restaurants are not affiliated with any resort. It’s all very walkable, we stay at Seven Stars and there is a nice gourmet grocery store about half a block walk from the resort and an upscale shopping area with some restaurants maybe four blocks away. |
I get it, but once you’ve taken a boat tour and gone snorkeling, there isn’t much else to do. We don’t take our kids friends on vacation with us. |
Was it relaxing? Is it nice or one of those places that looks a lot better in picture than reality? How are the rooms? |
