List of good models WITHOUT touch screens

I have a 2016 Honda Civic LX and it does not have a touch screen. There is a screen because of the backup camera but everything is knobs or buttons. I am praying this car will last me until the day I can no longer drive.

A huge number of consumers are complaining about the stupidity of touchscreen everything because you need to navigate through screens and options while driving. Being able to physical feel dials and knobs turn is way better.

+1

My 2021 subaru forestor is mostly dials, knobs and buttons. I don't know if current models are like this.

I heard Hyundai is switching to dials and knobs.

DH is out of town, and rented a car. He said *everything* is on the touch screen, and it's painful to navigate and unsafe while driving.

I don't get what OP is saying. My 2023 Toyota Highlander has a "touch screen" but I control the volume, AC/Heat, and pretty much everything else manually with knobs (not through the touch screen). Sure some settings are only accessed through the screen but it certainly doesn't have to happen while I'm driving.

New Subarus have touch screen controls for air and heat. You have to go back to a 2022 to get manual knobs for any of the controls, at least in the trim levels with leather.

I have a 2019 Honda Accord, and it's the same deal - there is a touchscreen, but it's just for the infotainment system/backup camera. There are knobs for the volume and something else I've never used, and the climate is all knobs or physical buttons.

Short people have short arms. Others have arm issues and cannot reach or hold their arm up long enough to touch the proper icon. I hate taking my eyes off the road to do this.

2021 Prius has touchscreen for everything. It’s infuriating.

A modern car is complicated enough that you can't manage all functions with physical controls.

Our Hyundai Santa Fe is the same. It's a good mix.

OP, definitely stay away from Hondas - they're terrible in this respect (at least they were 5 years ago, when I bought mine - they mayhave improved).

At the auto show recently, it seemed like the Ford Explorer stlll had knobs and buttons for the major controls.

Get rid of all of the bells and whistles crap. I don't need heated seats. I don't need touch screen everything. I don't need cameras on top of the roof to give me a 360 degree view. I don't need infotainment crap. I don't need all of the other useless junk. It'd prob cut $10,000 out of MSRP if they just gave you a simple car that goes from point A to B, which is what 95% of the public, who gives zero craps about the ride, only needs.

Great! We are also looking for a new car and want minimal touchscreens.

Not a boomer and want a car to get me from point a to point b safely, with heat and air conditioning. That's it.

I have a 2023 Prius and it has a touchscreen just for entertainment and backup camera. Everything else is a button and it’s amazing.

I agree ! If some people like them fine but for some of us who actually enjoy driving without distractions they are very annoying. Why can't they make a removable screen. Then when you don't want the thing you can store it in a safe place.
