List of good models WITHOUT touch screens

Yeah, sometimes they make it look like an afterthought. Mercedes really does it poorly. It's like a tablet bolted to the dash and not integrated in any way. Very tacky.

Change is not always for the better.

Old models don't have touch screens.

But a used Honda Odyssey from 2018 or before. We bought a later model and hate the touch screen. The newer models don’t let you listen to the radio without your phone. It’s terrible.

The BMW iDrive system is great. It’s controlled by a single knob that is super-intuitive to use. It’s the best thing about the car, honestly; I’m planning to get another brand in the next year, but I also hate touchscreens in cars and will very much miss iDrive.

You don't like the 12" laptop screen in your face....after spending ten hours at work staring at a 20" screen? No?

Its OK to have a 8" or so screen..you need it for the cameras, gps, apple carplay WITH a combination of large knobs, hard contraols for the radio, hvac, etc. However, I can't stand the look where all you see if a black 12" screen. I think the automakers are realizing most consumers hate it and you will see adjustments. The worst look is the screen "stuck" atop the dash where it actually restrict line sight out the windshield.

Mine is 8 years old, and we’ve never had an issue. And of course a touchscreen has never malfunctioned.

But also…so what? Stuff breaks on cars, and you get it repaired. Touchscreens are unsafe when they are fully functioning. That’s the issue.

I have been told that at least some Hyundai don't have touch screen.
I agree I absolutely hate the touchscreen. They distract you for even the simplest task. Plus I'm willing to bet a few years down the line as they start to fail. Huge headaches and cost will follow.

New poster here as well and I too would buy a car without a touchscreen if possible

A huge number of consumers are complaining about the stupidity of touchscreen everything because you need to navigate through screens and options while driving. Being able to physical feel dials and knobs turn is way better.

+1. Hate having no knobs.

The 2008 financial crisis seems way back but from 2010-2013 done car makers added lower cost version of some luxury cars with no gadgets.

My car has no touch screen, no navigation, no heated seats, no back up camera.

Once recession of 2008 ended we had march 2014 required back up cameras by 2018. Meaning all cars have a screen at that point. So any new model introduced after 2014 was built cameras or screens and existing models if still sold in 2018 got a screen.

You really need a 2017 model at newest with no back up camera to get no screen.

My 2011 Cadillac has an Analog Clock and two big radio knobs and knobs to adjust temp.

No distractions

That’s not totally true. I have a 2017 Acura RDX with a backup camera but no touchscreen. Base model. Not sure if they kept it like that for newer models, though.

Just get a car with voice commands. I don’t need to touch anything I just say “hey (nickname for my car) I’m cold”
