As someone who was born and raised in DC, I can tell you - without a doubt - no one is worse that people who back into parking spaces. It's dangerous for the smaller streets we have. I immediately assume you are either an idiot, or completely unaware of the world around you. |

I am the person who had no idea that people had an issue with others backing in.
Can I ask: what about parallel parking. My two most recent accident where with MD drivers trying to parallel park going in forward and simply misjudging the angle that would be required and sliding down my drivers side quarter panel while I was parked. Thank goodness for a dash cam. But I have always thought that EVERYBODY should advance PAST the parking spot and then BACK in to the parallel parking spot. |

Back-in parkers are obnoxious, as evidence by the fact that they take the time to place their car in position that they believe will allow them to speed away from the scene as quickly as possible.
They always have their getaway planned, which makes you wonder: Why? |
They were MD drivers, which explains their idiocy. Unless the space is enormous (like for 2 cars), you always back in for parallel parking. And yes, backing in to a regular parking space is just dumb. It's not more safe, and I've had more close encounters as a pedestrians with people who back in, rather than people who back out. I'm confused how anyone could say it's safer. The people who back in always seem to cause more traffic jams in parking lots because it takes so damn long. |
OP here - she did, which is why I walked away. I’m not entertaining crazy. |
OP here - she did not. She just sat there with her right blinker on, well ahead of the left spot that she, apparently, wanted to back into. |
I agree it is a pain in a busy lot, and I don't do it. But sometimes it's the easiest way to get into a parking space, especially in tight lanes and spaces. |
| Op, some people are just looking for a fight. As I tell my kids, other peoples opinion of you is none of your business. Treat others as you’d like to be treated and carry on. |
| I have noticed A LOT of trying to nose in parallel park with door dash and other delivery type drivers. I just assumed it is because parallel parking is no longer a driving skill. But nine times out of ten they just end up in the middle of the street because they cannot pull close to the curb going in front first. |
