He sounds like he should be roaming a subway in NYC.

Thank goodness the US eliminated the “insane asylums,” and replaced them with:

- NOTHING.

C'mon, they replaced it with DCUMs

Local news reported that a homeowner's security camera caught the guy chasing after a woman with the bat earlier in the day.

Also, the guy's father had previously knocked on neighbors' doors to let them know that the guy had mental issues but wasn't dangerous.

Yes but DC needs to start somewhere

Thank god this guy didn’t have a gun

Clearly, there are mental issues involved. However, this guy has gone after police officers and others and never been punished--or helped.

Descano: FAIL

Let’s just bump this to show that DCUM leftists are all about

Congrats to Gerry Connelly for finally getting his name in the Post.

This was my neighborhood.

I think this is a failure of our crappy mental health system vs the rise of political violence narrative. It is unfortunate that he went after our congressman’s staff, but I don’t believe political agenda was a reason.

He has schizophrenia - jail isn’t the right place for that. But we have gone too far with Deinstitutionalization for this guy to be in the care of an aging father. Word is the father was trying to get him into a facility.

+1 Had a cousin with same diagnosis. Family had a terrible time getting care for her and help. The law is not on your side in this.

However, MSN reports that he is also being charged with a "hate crime."

"Police say Pham approached a woman parked in her car Monday morning, asked if she was white, and then hit her windshield with a baseball bat. A video recorded on a neighbor’s home camera system shows a man with a bat chasing a woman who can be heard screaming."

Guess we can rule out those awful Trump supporters

Trump does attract mentally ill people.

What’s ironic is the Democrat Prosector Descano the guy off multiple times….and Connolly is on record endorsing Descano.

Again, he is mentally ill - jail isn't a psych ward.

There aren't enough facilities or workers to handle how many people are out there with these mental health problems, though.

If he is chasing women with bats while they scream for their lives then he does, in fact, belong in jail.
