MCPS has outside lawyers and staff members who are supposed to keep the school system in compliance with all laws. Instead of compliance, MCPS routinely makes “mistakes” until they are caught. MCPS needs to do better. Laws are written for a purpose and should not simply be ignored.
I find it odd that people (or MCPS spin doctors) are personally attacking an organization and person who bring to light problems that MCPS overlooks. If MCPS doesn’t like the bad press, then their employees should advise the school system on steps needed to be compliant. |
| The problem is anything Janis/Parent Coalition touches is tainted. The bitterness, the anger is so unfortunate. Wish she would put that energy toward improving the school system, rather than pointing fingers |
Yep. When people show you who they are, believe them. |
Please explain how an open meeting act complaint is filed with “bitterness” and how one is filed without “bitterness”? Exactly how much are you being paid to point fingers away from the boe every time they break the law? Why should students stay in class and graduate when the adults running the school system don’t follow any rules? They show students that they too can grow up, work for MCPS, embezzle $1.5M and retire with a pension. |
A typical "Parents' Coalition" post. |
Why does it upset you so much that many parents and even the county council want an open, transparent and accountable board of education? Why is the county council bitter? |
+1. Spitting out the lame "if you don't agree with me you must work for MCPS" trope. So tiresome and unhelpful. |
Explain your position. Why should the board ignore the law? |
There you go again. I'd be able to agree with more of your positions if your tactics weren't so obnoxious. |
Can't explain your position. Thanks for clarifying that. |
C- trolling |
Just keep name calling. The Board of Education appreciates your support of their illegal activity. |
You can always tell when it's "the Parents Coalition" trying to have the last word. |
They already got the last word. The Open Meetings Act board cited the Board of Education for four violations. That is now an official opinion in the public records. |
+1. Has anyone from the coalition ever run for a seat on the BOE themselves? |
