So for those who got off the wait list, besides sending the LOCI, what else did you do? |
Case Western tonight. |
Congrats! Does your kid know you are going to college with them? |
I don’t understand how colleges like Rice and Chicago have already had enough admittees decline that they are already moving to their wait list. |
Northeastern has gone to their waitlist! |
I'm not sure about Rice, but Chicago fills so much of its class with ED1/ED2, that there simply aren't very many applicants admitted EA/RD. Of those who are admitted EA/RD, a good percentage likely gets into Ivies/Stanford at end of March and therefore turn down UChicago. It's been almost a month since then, so Chicago goes to WL. |
That’s very true!
We attended one of the admitted students for u Chicago and they claimed most of the admitted students have accepted their offers and they are very few spots left for class of 2027 to be complete. |
Have any one got of WL for Georgetown? |
Anyone got off waitlist at Northwestern? |
Yeah because they admit 95%+ of the class through ED1/ED2 who have to accept the offer! |
Congrats! (Ignore the semantics police above. Some people need to take any opportunity to feel superior -- don't let them harsh your buzz). Hooray for your kid! |
Congratulations!!! Would you mind sharing the following information with us here? 1. I assume that your DC submitted a LOCI, right? 2. What else did your DC submit or do if any? 3. What is your DC's major? Thank you! |
Back to school!!! |
Im the Rice parent and thanks for pointing out that "we" are going to college. Of course "we" are not going to college but college is a family decision as well as a student's decision - it has to fit within the financial goals of the family. In our house the kids aren't given carte blanc to do whatever they want but big decisions are made a family team. Thanks again for your insight.
He did not do a LOCI; simply accepted the WL offer. Major is CS. Unsure if he will accept bc he moved on to his other offers thinking Rice was off the table. He visited campus three times and was very specific with the Why Rice essay. |
Thank you for your detailed information. Really appreciate it!!! |
