You could aim slightly older...like legos, classic little people or a toddler size towel

As a minimalist please do not do these. We buy for the next 6 months and then donate immediately. The last thing I want is a bunch of toys they can’t use for years.

Agree on food gift card or an Amazon gift card. You’d be amazed how many $10-20 items these babies need last minute!

It was recommended to me by a pediatric ER nurse as one of the few things you can do for a baby with a cold or similar virus. My babies LOVED it and would calm right down when I rubbed it on their chest. It can be used from 3 months of age and is great to have in the medicine cabinet, but something a new mom might not think to buy.

Another good example, this PP loves this stuff and I wouldn’t want any of it. I think if the registry is complete just do books and/or gift cards. This would all just be stuff I’d have to dispose of. Not that the thought doesn’t count, of course it does.

Def understand not wanting a sleep sack but you have to have a thermometer, especially if the baby is going to daycare. If she didn’t register for one, the one I linked is used by pediatricians and very easy to use. If you don’t have kids, you may not think to register for one. They don’t let you go to pre school or daycare if the temp is above a certain number (and of course you need it yourself bc kids spike fevers and the nurses like always asks if you’ve taken a temp when you call the sick line. So I would still suggest a thermometer plus gift receipt if a thermometer wasn’t on the registry.

She may already have one! Or three!

I’m going to be honest I wouldn’t want or use any of these and the CSA would be a burden. Don’t give tasks as gifts.

Huh? The CSA sends fruits and vegetables to your door. Means if we couldn't get to the neighborhood farmer's market, we still had our produce for the week. It was LESS work for us.

Okay I can’t help you understand. Send everyone produce. They’ll love it.

That’s what gift receipts to Amazon are for! I think PP just asked for ideas of what people have been given that they liked. She would have preferred the registry. So people are answering the question.

I really appreciated the homemade crochet baby blanket we got. As a minimalist that purges hard, it will be a keepsake we’ll save to adulthood. They look to be about $50 on Etsy.

Anything you choose for your friend will be thoughtful. I think people are overlooking the fact that- unlike most other parties- the whole point of a shower is to shower the mom-to-be with gifts. It’s not like you’re showing up with random stuff on a Tuesday. So if the registry is complete and you really want to give another gift, anything that’s easy to return with a gift receipt or a gift card will be fine! Don’t worry about people shooting everything down. It’s a shower.

We got five baby blankets with my kids name on it for our youngest. Such a waste and I couldn’t even pass them on to other kids. One had both first and middle name and they were spelled wrong.

You can always use a blanket. Think infant Billy is going to be upset because his blanket says Ava?

A blanket is fine. The problem is we all end up with six blankets.

This is true, but we’re just all giving OP options. An Uber eats gift card is still a gift.

The post you’re replying to mentioned gift cards. Agree they are great! A gift card or something that can be returned easily should be fine even for the most minimal of minimalists
