It probably is considerably higher than surrounding jurisdictions that are basically all suburbs. I wonder though how DCPS principal turnover compares to similar urban jurisdictions...that would likely be more telling/informative of whether something is wrong here or not. |
| Any news on AP turn over? Hoping my school gets a new one. |
| Where is there Marie Reed principal going? |
She sent out an email saying that she will be going to work in Montgomery County MD. |

| Bummer. |
Sent an email to whom? It wasn’t in the Panther Post. |
I bet a lot higher compared to other urban schools. There is no stability because the contracts are so short. You can’t improve a school in 1-2 years. The turnover is really high. DCPS plays musical chairs with the principal position. They can’t find quality new hires for all the needs so they move principals around to different schools. |
+1000 - Mayra was not that great but Pineda takes the cake. That man is useless! |
Hopefully. |

I thought Oyster's principal was new THIS year, so the list might be outdated.
Is the AP leaving Hearst, too? I thought just the principal. |
The poster never included the source for that list so it may be they just pulled it out of … thin air. |
| I don’t know about the list provided, but the AP at Hearst is leaving to become principal, unless she gets the Hearst principal job. |
I didn’t see an email either. Maybe the email was just to staff? |
| The Breakthrough Montessori principal is leaving too. |
