It should be public now, even if the public spin isn’t exactly reflective of reality.

for HS associate principal?

Yes, the demotion/imminent departure of the associate principal who nobody wanted to stay. Too bad they chose a FCCPS lifer to replace him though. There are too many of those in the system already.

I don't know anything about the HS person who is leaving but Rob is my favorite admin in all of FCCPS--so was this a demotion for him as well or he wanted the change in his role? I hope he stays!

Rob is awesome and the kids love him, but this does feel like a demotion. That said, there are a ton of behavioral issues at that campus so maybe he'll actually be able to do some good in this new (made up??) role. I think he could have used more support at MEH to deal with all the post-covid behavioral nonsense. Hope he stays!

Laub is great. I’m glad he got the high school job. The new middle school guy must be amazing because everybody loves Rob Carey.

Its possible Rob couldnt bow down to the KING enough for the KING's liking....we know who that is..and I pray he gets replaced but it wont happen ..although im happy he is being idealized less by the School Board recently...I am happy to see the new SB members challenging him some--the old SB just rolled with whatever nonsense he wanted....

ACPS washout who did nothing at Meridian and shouldn’t have been hired in the first place, but that’s the school/system’s fault.

Disagree on all the praise for the replacement. He’s arrogant and has next to no experience anywhere else so he thinks he’s the first person to ever think of things that other schools did for years.

Good luck.

Overall he’s liked well enough but there are concerns with him becoming the principal. He doesn’t have any other experience. He went to school here, taught here and was an assistant principal here.

There are an unfortunately large number of folks in FC who will tell you that’s better than having experience elsewhere.

Anyway, if the current associate principal ever actually assumes his new role as asst principal, I’ll eat my hat.

Who are you talking about? Rob Carey? You're saying he won't actually assume the new role as assistant principal?

I'm pretty sure this was largely Valerie Hardy's decision so is she the KING you speak of?

The current MHS associate principal will likely never assume his new role as assistant principal. They don’t want him to stay but can’t fire him.

No, I wasn't thinking of her. I don't have any feedback/knowledge about her except it seems she goes along with what her boss will want. I think the reason she has been able to stay on for so long is that she doesn't ruffle any feathers above her-granted this is pure conjecture.

She had to reapply to her position too, so she’s not making any unilateral decisions.

I'm confused. The current MHS associate principal is Dave Serentsis and the announcement said he is pursuing a principal job in FCPS for next year. Peter Laub is supposed to be the new MHS associate principal and Rob Carey is supposed to be MHS Assistant Principal for Student Support, a newly created position. Are you saying Rob won't really assume that role because they want to get rid of him? Why would that be? And BTW Rob didn't go to school in FCCPS although Peter Laub did. If I'm wrong about any of this please correct me, but also please help me understand what you are talking about.

DP. People are referring to Dave Serentsis. He’s looking for a different job but they said if he didn’t find one he would be moved to an assistant principal. That’s what they are talking about.

They are referring to Peter Laub as the one who went to school and then worked in FCCPS. The majority of his personal school and work experience is this district.
