1. Where exactly does it say parents must first email their consent? 2. Will student attendance be verified? |
Not a single school employee was there? |
1. In the email that was sent March 30. 2. Yes, it was. |
So what happened with the Holocaust speaker that caused such a CYA email to go out? |
What did it say? They didn’t send staff an email. I am a staff member and wasn’t aware anything happened. |
Apparently a Holocaust survivor spoke but then started going off on immigrants and how they bring diseases and kill babies and a variety of other things that probably could’ve have been vetted. Between that and the swastika graffiti, not a great look for the school. Good thing a leadership change seems imminent. |
I heard it, as a staff member. It wasn’t exactly that. I am surprised they felt the need to put out an email since they didn’t say anything to staff. I thought it was a good presentation for the students. Yes, he said he had concerns about the border at the end and how it will affect the country in the future since other countries don’t have the same healthcare standards as the United States regarding vaccines. It was the last few seconds of an hour long discussion. Many people share that concern. |
It’s funny that you’re the only staff member I’ve met that has that particular interpretation. Anyway “foreigners bring disease” is a longstanding anti-immigration trope (ties in nicely with the swastikas, actually), and it’s particularly funny considering US healthcare is a for-profit dumpster fire that cares least about actual healthcare, but go ahead. |
I have not spoken to any staff upset over the presentation so we must know different people. Dr. Noonan posted the entire video on Twitter so anyone can watch it. This man spent a lot of time speaking to the students about his life and you are focused on a couple of comments at the end, not the majority of what he said and his story. |
What is the leadership change that seems imminent? |
And yet Noonan felt compelled to send yet another, more explicit condemnation of what was said. Funny that. |
It should be public now, even if the public spin isn’t exactly reflective of reality. |
for HS associate principal? |
Yes, the demotion/imminent departure of the associate principal who nobody wanted to stay. Too bad they chose a FCCPS lifer to replace him though. There are too many of those in the system already. |
Schools absolutely should protest gun violence. Chicken sheet Republicans won’t protect our schools and kids so this seems like the very least they should do. |
