| Ayah means nanny or maid in my language so Aya is too close to that. |
I know a person named Aya and she is awesome
I am from turkey and has a male name( without the t marbouta) and enjoyed having a gender neutral name. Now we are naming our daughter Ahsen Vera( bera means the highest level of taqwa). If you like Aya, go for it, I think its pretty |
Look for regional names not based on religion then narrow those down to the ones that are least likely to be mispronounced. Talia Rita Lynn Sima Amina Amira Mona Yasmine Nadia Maha Raya Anissa Dana Sana Leena |
What does Rita mean in arabic? Heard it the first time |
|
Isn't Aya Arabic for "miracle " ?
Is there sentimental meaning with the name choice (ie you had difficulty in conceiving , for example?). |
| Maha and Arwa |
It’s another spelling for Ghita. Rain. |
You want an Arab name that doesn’t sound Arab? What did I miss? I lived in the Middle East for a few years and always loved the name Dania, which I have only heard there. Not sure if it’s Arab though. I also like Tamara because it’s common in Israel too and I think it’s nice that there’s a multicultural flavor. You could also use the name noora/noura/Nora as a reference to noor/Nour or if your family is Lebanese or Tunisian maybe find a French name that is commonly used in that country. |
| Rumi |
I see it spelled "Reida" in English |
|
I don't like Aya much. However, I love Haya, which sounds similar.
My favorites are: Haya Amani Zainah Layla |
To add to the this, I work in a Muslim country 10 months out of the year, and these are some names of women I know, so not archaic or odd for 2023. |

Ayah is nice but Ayla is much more beautiful. Others I love:
Leila Zahra Samira |
Haya means testicles in turkish |
| You want an Arab name that doesn't sound Arab. Are you even Arab as it doesn't seem so? |
