Does your decision disappear if you accept the waitlist? Mine now says completed again. |
What state(s) are they mostly from? |
I know a large amount are from NJ |
+1000 My kid will decline all their acceptances on May 1st. Well, maybe April 30th. It has NOTHING to do with your WL kid. Also, schools work with yield algorithms so WL often don’t move much at all. Love the school that loves you back and move on. |
Uh oh. I’m 90% sure my DC will go to JMU but they are still considering 2 other schools. Hoping to know by April 1. Is that too late for preferred housing? |
The sooner you sign up the better housing you will get. There are several dorms at JMU that are very very very old and dumpy and no AC. If you're okay paying the same amount for those trashy dorms as people who have AC and much nicer dorms then wait as long as you want. |
100% not true. Lots of kids come off waitlists, especially once decisions are made. It's ridiculous to insinuate that isn't the case. |
Not really. JMU used to be more selective when it was a smaller school. In 1987 they had a 31 percent acceptance rate and higher SATs than VT. True story |
Why do kids turn their nose up to VT or GMU or any other school? |
In! 4.1 weighted (3.6 unweighted) and 1340 SAT. Interested in College of Business. Good luck all! |
Yes! Same here. Any OOS school is going to be more expensive than the in-state option, yet they seem to think it’s unfair. So weird - why did they choose an OOS school then?? |
Congratulations!! My Duke loves JMU. |
Because they love the school and can afford it? ![]() ![]() |
That’s nice, but again, that’s not how it works. Let’s say JMU offers 5 slots, predicting that 3 will not accept. Your kid turning down their slot is just one of the 3 they expected to say no. It doesn’t help the waitlisted kid at all. |
DP. My kids at JMU have friends from Colorado, Florida, Texas, Mass, NY, CA, and elsewhere. |
