I still remember being stunned that one of my classmates bragged about stealing a pen from the drugstore. He was the son of the president of one of the local banks. This was many, many years go-long before most of you were born. There was teen suspended from Langley a few years ago for stealing food in cafeteria--there was more to the story involving marijuana in the backpack, but this story was public as there was a sad story that followed. He was not a poor kid. I remember asking my High school aged son at the time--he said he sees kids stealing food frequently. (different high school). Flirting with danger gives a high to some people. |
So basically you admit he shouldn’t have been stashing cash in his laptop case and leaving it in his locker. A person should always carry cash on them or better yet leave the cash at home. There is no reason a middle schooler should be bringing cash to school at all. |

So do you want an email sent with a reminder about how theft is unacceptable? There should also be one sent to remind students not to store valuables in their locker and/or keep cash in their lockers. Most people understand this. |
