Please recommend brands for couch/ sofas

My thrift store mid-century couch supported on old fashioned wire springs is still spring-y and it was easy to re-canvas the base..
The Room & Board sofa which isn't supported on wire springs but rather on stretched strips of canvas that eventually broke can't be easily fixed without ripping apart the bottom of the couch. It just isn't designed for maintenance. It's designed to wear out, be thrown away and another replacement bought for another 1.5K.

+1 on Room & Board. Plus the cushions are terrible.

Pro tip - you can get this in ANY Jonathan Louis fabric. Go to the store, order samples, test them out at home. The stock fabrics are great - I cleaned red wine, peanut butter, chocolate off of the sample.

We bought a Radley sectional from Macy's 3 or 4 years ago. It is super comfortable and still looks and feels great in the oatmeal color. We don't let our dog sit on it and don't have small children, but it spot cleans easily. We are very happy with it, except - it is not made for short people. Two family members are 5 feet and 5-2 and neither one can sit with their feet on the ground without pillows behind them. I'm 5-5 and didn't notice this when I bought it. Probably should have looked for something less deep, but that's just me and my less than tall family.

This is across most sofas I think. I was looking at LazyBoy and wanted to search for 5'2-5'9 or something and the only ones that fit for that height are reclining sofas. There were 17 sofas for people 6'3 or taller. I dont know if thats their claim to fame but there are not that many people over 6'3''. There are more people in the 5'2-5'9 range but there were no non-reclining sofa options for that range which seemed statistically ridiculous.

Stressless brand sofas are ergonomic and comfortable, by their style is singular.

NP - Have you bought their mattress or office chair? are they any good?

I have tried out their office chairs and will likely get one when it's time to replace what I have now. The Stressless models seemed very comfortable and supportive. I would have liked to buy their sofas, but the size and style is just unsuitable for the public spaces in my house. I am still thinking of a few for a loft area which is out of sight to guests. We presently have comfortable but not especially attractive power reclining home theater seating there, and Stressless will be a strong contender to replace that eventually.

We have a sofa from Calligaris and are very happy with it. It's now 6 years old and looks brand new. Some of their stuff is pretty expensive, but they have good sales a few times a year and the floor model pieces are deeply discounted.

2 kids and a dog, our Radley couches (cream? Off white?) have held up great
