those are better schools! |
So OOS applications and OOS yield rates are up. Clemson needed more in state applicants this year to balance state mandates on OOS/IS. It is going to be a tough year for OOS applicants. I don’t think official numbers have been posted but rumors are that they received 60k in applications and admitted 22k. That’s about 37% for the overall rate with OOS lower. |
| I would choose VT or Penn state any day over clemson |

DD got into Engineering with a summer start. She’s not sure how she feels about the summer start.
We’re OOS but not from the DC area. |
Same! Clemson is fun, but VT and Penn State are better. Congrats! |
| DS was accepted to Clemson for engineering which was a boost after receiving the UF rejection last week. He was also accepted to Tennessee last week but is leaning towards Ohio State. We will be visiting Clemson at the end of the month to see if the college town vibe changes his mind. |
| My dd was accepted after being deferred. Just waiting on Ohio State. |
Can you share stats and major? |
Yes! Stats please! |
DP but DD was accepted to both in engineering. 4.2 weighted 1320 SAT. Not a ton of EC. Private school-not a DC area one She’s accepted to the honors college at Ohio State with merit aid. |
Thanks! I think so to, so hopefully admitted student visits will make my DC excited about VT and Penn State. |
Enjoy going to school in Columbia, maybe you can transfer to Clemson if you get your grades up. |
Ped state ? not a chance. I could see Va Tech but not ped state |
