I think this is a myth. Water is water. |
| Enough with the water argument. So stupid |
There’s no real NY style…. We used to get Iggie’s and Joe Squared, but that was 5-10 years ago. |
| Mamma Lucia's is good |
+1. It’s no Joe’s, but it’s probably the closest I’ve had to NY style pizza around here. |
|
Original Ledos pepperoni is the worlds best.
Hate to say it |
+1. Why do people like NY pizza is beyond me. The mushy limp crust that's like undercooked dough. The sauce is good, but the grease pooled on the top that feel like the worst fast food restaurant's old leftover food. No thank you. |
If you had “mushy limp crust that’s like undercooked dough”, that means that you haven’t tried GOOD NY pizza. It should be a little greasy though — which might not be to your taste. |
Most of the places I would recommend are probably not there anymore. The closest to NY style might be BOP — Brick Oven Pizza, in Fells Point. Al Pacino’s Pizza — crabmeat is the bomb! and Matthew’s Pizza on Eastern — also the crabmeat & shrimp, are are both truly delicious options, but I wouldn’t describe them as NY style. I can highly recommend both of them though. |
Ok, it looks like BOP got a new owner, and then closed, so I don’t have a NY style pizza recommendation. Al Pacino’s and Matthew’s are so awesome though, that you might not care about NY style pizza once you try theirs. |
Interesting article. Thanks! |
This is silly. There are different minerals and all sorts of things in different water. |
Blasphemy |
You do you. |
