Is Mayor Bowser ever going to get DPW or other agencies to clean up trash in DC? Do your job, Mayor!

What am I looking at here? The first photos look like a construction site….very little trash.

The second Tweet is of garbage on NPS land; DC DPW won’t clean that up. Chalk this up to another reason why DC should be a state.

I was just in NYC last week. DC is soooooo clean compared to NYC.

Yeah, I was confused by this too. Only one of these pictures appears to have trash in it, and it appears to be on land that doesn't belong to DC!

I don’t think you’ve thought through the position that trash thrown from DC into other jurisdictions isn’t DCs problem.

DC doesn't have authority over federal land. If you want to change that, please write to Congress.

The city doesn’t have one 5 foot stick?

The National Park Service can't be bothered to clean up on its property, so instead you have to complain that Bowser isn't out there doing it personally?

The NPS is not littering. The trash is coming from DC. DC should clean it up. Not sure how hard that is for you.

This person has nailed this issue. The National Park Police cops are not all driving into work and throwing their trash out here. This trash was generated in DC by DC residents. DC should roll a few trash trucks up here and clean it up before starting some sort of an argument about determining responsibility.

In fairness, my experience is that most of the trash in my neighborhood is left by Maryland residents who are driving through DC and litter out of their cars. (I do agree that DC should be doing more to make this an NPS priority, though).

According to the PP, nothing MD can do because of jurisdiction so DC needs to clean it up. Sorry.

If only Maryland people just stayed out of DC I am sure that you neighborhood would be clean, crime free and pleasant.
