I think I made it confusing - - this is exactly why I posted - because this kind of thing worries me.
Yes it is a spy balloon thats why it is worrisome and was checking to see who else following this news.

Why? The military already disabled any surveilance opportunity and shooting it down would pose a risk to the people below. IOW, the military has made its opinion known and the commander in chief has agreed given the variables.

How was this not detected/shot down/redirected when it hit the Aleutians? It covered 3,000+ miles before anyone noticed?

Because the last thing we want is the balloon transmitting data about non-export AMRAAMs during it's last moments.
