USC 2023 Admit Stats Posted

Back in the 00s USC was so easy to get into. What happened? It was seriously the place for kind of dumb rich kids.

Think twice before sending your kid to a school where wealthy entitlement is the norm. (FTR, the student re-telling these stories comes from a 1% background from out of state and even she is surprised and slightly disillusioned by it all). 90k for the school year including freshman room and board.

Sure, they have rich kids like Harvrad and such elite schools.

USC is relatively a big school for a private, and it's very diverse.
My kid is in honors dorm, and has three suitemates.
They are all very smart, independent, and motivated. They all major in something serious.  Furthest from spoiled.

UChigago, Vanderbilt, Upenn, etc. so called elite schools all had 30-70% acceptance rate back in the days.

No matter what people say, schools like USC, NYU, Northeastern will only get better and cilimb up.

Isnt' it one of the reasons why the elite schools are popular?

It’s horrible, actually.

I grew up in California; moved out 25 years ago. The state just gets worse and worse every year.

I mean, the scenery is nice and all.

But there is no way I would send my child to any school in California.

Why? We visited this summer and it was lovely.

What grade? I'm a little concerned about having to find off campus housing.

Sohpomore now.
Found a 3 bed apartment with those suitemates for the rest of the years.

In fact, this was a bit surprising that on-campus housing is not guranteed for 3rd and 4th compared to my other kids, but it turned out fine for my kid.

This. I taught there and a close relative attended as a student. It was and still is the U of Spoiled Children in an awful part of clogged LA. The Greek system is out of control. I would never send my kids there

My cousin transferred in and had a hard time finding off campus housing. She ended up mikes many miles away in a secure (crime) apartment but it wasn’t what she wanted and very expensive

I would never consider attending USC. One year in a dorm is enough for me and would not want to live on that neighborhood.

USC dropped out of the top 25 prior to this year.
