Famous people who you have no idea what they sound like

Still pretty to look at though.

It's funny though because most sports stars, I do know what they sound like. Even for sports I don't follow closely, assuming the person is famous enough to break through.

Athletes are asked to talk a lot, given that their actual job is generally not that verbal. I am more familiar with a lot of athlete's speaking voices than politicians, which is strange when you think about it. Why should I know what Bryce Harper sounds like but have to think a minute to remember what Murial Bowser sounds like? It should be opposite, right?

It is the opposite for me. I've heard Bowser speak a number of times, live and on the radio. And in ads! Have watched Bruce Harper live and on TV but never heard him speak.

I can also recognize the Supreme Court Justice voices but not Gigi Hadid. I'd probably be more likely to recognize the Justices on the street, too.

I imagine that's all pretty common in DC.

I’m not sure I ever heard Karen Pence speak.

OP again. This raises two good categories -- political spouses, and professional pretty people. I don't think I know what Doug Emhoff or Gigi Hadid sounds like. Doug Emhoff I can probably guess but Gigi Hadid, and a lot of other models, I have no idea.

Gigi is on tv all the time. She does interviews (tonight show), was on RHoBH, etc.

OP here. I don't watch reality shows or most TV news programs (so no morning shows). I do watch late night but have never seen her. I don't watch the Tonight Show because I find Jimmy Fallon very annoying and not funny.

NP, Gigi is still a bad example. You must not be a follower of pop culture if you've never heard Gigi speak.

Eh, it depends on how you consume pop culture. I know who she is, know about her family and relationships, have seen a billion photos of her. But I don't watch reality TV or a lot of celebrity interviews (and would be very unlikely to make a point to watch an interview with someone like GH because it's not like she's going to be promoting an album or movie I might be interested).

I feel like with social media and streaming, you are less likely to encounter audio of some celebrities. There was a time in the past when I usually watched some kind of morning news programming as well as a late night show a few nights a week. And if it was on, I'd watch whatever interview was on. But now I get morning news from Twitter, scroll Instagram during the day, and watch late night shows a day later via streaming and will skip a lot of it. Not a lot of incidental interviews with random celebrities anymore.

It's individual. I'm a huge baseball fan so I've heard Bryce Harper speak literally hundreds of times. I follow DC politics and have heard Bowser speak, but not nearly as much, so her voice isn't nearly as recognizable to me. I'd get it, but it would take me a minute.

But yes, I'm a lawyer and I recognize most of the SC justices voices except maybe Gorsuch (just a less distinctive voice). And I've seen a several of them in person and would absolutely recognize them!

You can know about politics and sports simultaneously. And fashion! But I've just had no opportunities to hear Gigi Hadid speak even if I've seen her in photos many, many times.

I'm not surprised, Mike.

I was very surprised when I first heard Harry Styles speak. Bit of a weird one since he's a singer and obviously his voice is a big part of his fame. I had heard songs by him and liked them, but for some reason, it was a long while before I heard him speaking and not singing.

His speaking voice was not what I imagined it would be -- it was much deeper and raspier. His English accent is gorgeous.

That was when I saw the attraction of Harry Styles.

I had never heard Meghan Marble’s speaking voice until I saw the Netflix special.

Also I see lots of photos of beautiful Amal Clooney but have zero idea how she sounds!

See lots of pics of Hailey Bieber but never heard her speak

Does Jeffrey Epstein count? For such a notorious and seemingly social criminal you’d think there’d be an interview somewhere.

Meghan Markle was in film and on a tv show called Suits that has dozens of episodes.

Amal Clooney is a good one. I know what her wedding dress looked like and her kids names, never heard her voice.

Anonymous wrote:Was reading some British royals gossip today and suddenly realized I have absolutely no idea what Kate Middleton's voice sounds like, and don't think I've ever heard it. Which is weird because without really trying I know a lot of other random things about her.

Who are some other famous people who you basically never hear speak? Obviously actors won't make this list, or reality stars. I was trying to think of another person but am coming up empty. Even most of the business/tech gurus I've heard in random interviews or they appear in commercials for their products or something.

Are there others who are the same level of recognizably famous (you'd see a picture and know who it was) but you very rarely hear speak? I recognize this might have something to do with being in the US, maybe people in the US hear Kate talk but I don't think I ever have.

Speaking of Kate Middleton and I’m surprised no one has said this one yet but do we know what Camilla sounds like? I don’t ever remember hearing her voice. I feel like iv heard Jate speak more than Camilla.
