Famous people who you have no idea what they sound like

Maybe that's why we never hear her talk.

I remember what she used to sound like but I haven't heard her voice in years now. Not since she split with Tom, because I don't know of any acting she's done? Does she work anymore?

She had a very girlish voice, I remember. I wonder if it still sounds like that or if it's more mature. It was notable because Michelle Williams also has a fairly high, feminine voice. But not like Katie's, and Michelle seems to used her lower octave more often.

And this doesn’t count but a lot of actors use accents so it’s shocking to hear their real voices. Christian Bale, Tom Holland, and Colin Ferrel were surprises to me.

Interesting, because as an attorney who regularly listens to arguments, I can actually distinguish their voices pretty easily.

OP again. This raises two good categories -- political spouses, and professional pretty people. I don't think I know what Doug Emhoff or Gigi Hadid sounds like. Doug Emhoff I can probably guess but Gigi Hadid, and a lot of other models, I have no idea.

Gigi is on tv all the time. She does interviews (tonight show), was on RHoBH, etc.

OP here. I don't watch reality shows or most TV news programs (so no morning shows). I do watch late night but have never seen her. I don't watch the Tonight Show because I find Jimmy Fallon very annoying and not funny.

NP, Gigi is still a bad example. You must not be a follower of pop culture if you've never heard Gigi speak.

I’ve listened to her guest podcast and she sounded shy but passionate about the subject matter (maternal health). Very posh accent and low, quiet voice.

I haven't. I haven't heard any model speak. I don't watch reality TV or celebrity interviews.
If I haven't seen them perform using their voices, I haven't heard them speak.

Still pretty to look at though.

Yes! This is shininess going to say. I was in England with friends when there was a big televised Posh and Becks special. I don’t think we made it thru it bc of the sound of him!!!!

That's a good point about actors. Many are definitely true vocal chameleons. I also think of Hugh Laurie who became so well known for playing an American on House, and did it for so long, that he now basically has an American speaking voice and a British speaking voice and can do either. They made a joke about it on his latest show because he played a character who is British but pretends to be American for his job, and he winds up having to flip back and forth between accents multiple times, even in the same scene. It's funny and impressive but I suppose he has had a lot of practice.

Yes, same sensation watching Alex O’Loughlin play American Steve McGarrett on Hawaii 5-0 for 10 years, and then hearing his native Australian accent in interviews. Jarring!

He's one I definitely think they purposefully keep out of the spotlight because his voice and demeanor are really off-putting. There's a reason Ivanka is the public face of that couple. I don't like her, but she is very comfortable on camera and has definitely cultivated a low-register voice intended for TV.

I only recently heard Meg Markle talk (I know, how? She's oversaturated! Her voice is everywhere! But I haven't heard it) and she sounded much less intelligent than I expected. I thought her voice would be deeper, somehow.
