Well sure but I want to get them in now so I don’t have to deal with the application process when they are older. The odds are better now. It’s an insurance policy for later. |
Don’t understand your comment. When you got your first job did you start out as CEO? It is a ground up approach. And there is a significant difference between private K and public K. |
This. It doesn’t matter where a kid goes for K; it matters that they get in at K. In at K at a k-12 means the lifer’s life: never having to compete for a seat until college application time. Keep your nose clean and it’s easy street for 11.5 years. |
I am 100% certain this is true-- certainly our experience with DD. Applying for 9th, essays, interviews, tours, tests. Aware of the entire thing. Competing against all of her friends for the same 3 schools. It sucks. College will be SO much easier: developmentally more appropriate, hundreds of schools to choose from, no interviews. It's been awful. So glad they are all in. Now, we wait. |
Yes, I did but it was a startup 😝 |
| OP, I agree. This is stressful. I think coming to this forum doesn't help the stress (ha!). |
Wasn't the case for us. Picked three schools that we felt would work. People buying into the mythical rankings on this board will cause unnecessary anxiety. In other words, "Just do You!" |
