Applying is stressful

Applying for K. Everything in (except a teacher recommendation- which is annoying), two playdates left to do (others already done). Stressing and waiting. Anyone else eager for March? I'm happy my kid has no idea what's going on.

It can be very stressful. and it's really hard when your kid is older and does not what is going on and they get rejected.

Yes. 9th grade applicant. They had a lot to do during the application process (essays, studying for exams, interviews) and are old enough to feel the sting if they get rejected. I will be so happy when this is over.

It will be ok. Everything works out in the end.

The whole point of applying in kinder is to avoid the nightmare stress of older grade applicants. They have to write essays, interview on their own (you are stressed about playdates?), and of course dealing with rejection for a kid who is well aware they didn’t make the cut.

It’s good you are wealthy enough to pay for 13 years of private if kinder application is stressing you out.

Agreed - it is stressful for Elementary, then HS, and just wait for college.....

senior year 1st semester is awful for everyone I know (public, private, those gunning for elites, those taking a more measured approach, those trying to be totally chill.)

I know. I'm pouring everyone a virtual cocktail/wine.

Have a good plan b and plan c that you can embrace if first choice doesn’t work out - good luck!

Just wait until college…you don’t know stress yet!

Wait until 9th grade. The worst application year even worse than college.

Took me by surprise how stressful it was to apply for private HS from public school, but I'm glad we got a taste of what it might be like to apply to college, so hopefully we won't be totally blindsided when that time comes.

Good luck to everyone!

Focus on the proper fit for your kid and it's not so bad. You can only control so much. Don't buy into all drama that people will manufacture.

Working on getting MS applications finalized. Agree that it is very stressful! Our kid can't go without significant financial aid and that is causing me major anxiety.

We might be relocating due to job thing so that uncertainty is really not motivating these final edits…
