Alcohol, Tobacco, and Other Drugs on Montgomery County Public Schools Property https://ww2.montgomeryschoolsmd.org/departments/policy/pdf/cofra.pdf "No person may possess, use, or sell alcohol on MCPS property, except for very limited circumstances when it may be approved by the Board." "Any MCPS employee who violates the law or Board policy regarding possession and/or use of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs is subject to disciplinary proceedings of suspension or dismissal." |

Trashy. |

County employees can and have been fired just for having alcohol on the premises. Sounds like the same rule applies to MCPS.
Sorry, no alcohol gifts. |
This. And the significant overlap with #boymom.

If you deliver it off school grounds and it is $20 or under, yes. Otherwise, no. I’m still sad about the time our principal sent a frantic email that we had to return the chocolates that a family gave. Turns out they were liqueur filled. |
It must be a union other than MCEA. |
I keep my purse and phone and some other things I need to secure securely in a locked drawer that's not big enough to hold a bunch of Christmas gifts. |
| I never understand alcohol as a gift (absent a more personal relationship). So many people choose not to drink and many people make that choice because they have a history if alcohol abuse. It seems like such a risk. Then, throw in the school part…. Definitely not. |
LOL and the head of the Planning Board had an entire open bar in his office. Alcohol is fine in Montgomery County. Anywhere. Anytime. |
No, not fired. Retire with full benefits. |
A few years ago I gave each of my sped colleagues a bottle of wine. At school.
|
And what happened to him, and all his colleagues? Gone. |
He took chocolates given to a teacher for the teacher's own consumption? OMG, that is ridiculous. Totally different than if they were given to students. |
