Yes, but you know you can just Google that.

Virginia Tech is the land grant institution in Virginia and they have ED.

This list is not accurate. IL and CT are listed but don't have ED. UVM does have ED. Those are the ones listed. So the only two that seem to have it are UVM and UVA (though there could be others that aren't on this list). There are other state schools on this list but they are not flagships.

I think UVA probably resurrected it because VT and W&M have it.

Public schools should not have ED. Period.

Arguably WM and VT Engineering are also flagships.

No. There can only be one flagship. It doesn’t mean they are lesser schools though.

I agree. UVA originally abandoned it out of an interest in equity. They shouldn’t have reinstated it.

But if you are going to compete in the USNWR rankings, you have too. It's the right choice for UVA because it continues to rise in the rankings. It won't if it drops ED and doesn't scoop up the top students who will commit and increase yield stats. That is true now of all institutions in the US

Ugh… speaking of “pious.”

They absolutely should. Period.

Most of your kids wouldn’t get in regardless. And that’s ok.

UCLA, Cal, Michigan and Florida are all ranked close to UVA and they do not have ED.

Three of my kids were begged by admissions officers at UVA to apply, but laughed in their faces.
