Plus, I’m quite aware of the definition of fascism. I maintain that somebody harboring political beliefs that are more conservative than my own doesn’t automatically make them a fascist.

Been there. Done that. Many times over many years. My answer doesn’t change.

Again: I don’t call people fascists (or any insult, for that matter) unless it’s actually true. I also get to know people before I judge at all. Since I can’t know every member of a group, I refuse to make claims about an entire organization. That’s just logical, responsible thinking. That’s why I won’t say there are NO fascist cops, but I also won’t say there are “many.” My personal experience negates that possibility.
