| No arrests? |
Nevermind. You're intent on debating with me but the only thing you and I disagree on is victim blaming. And you seem to be doubling down on that part. |
| This general type of thing happens everywhere every day, but this particular thing happened in Texas. Open carry, no permit required. Would the same thing have happened in NYC? Probably not. Atlanta, LA, New Orleans, Detroit...maybe. But the barrier to getting shot couldn't be much lower than being in Texas, independent of all the other commingling circumstances. |
Ugh, I think this is a very hard truth. It’s not victim blaming, it’s reality, and helps no one to deny it. Do you doubt his intelligence so much that you think he had no idea the people he was surrounding himself with might be unhinged or even dangerous? Many people make this choice, after all it’s fun to run with a wild crowd, not thinking that it’ll ever happen to them. Happens all the time and it’s sad. Prayers to his family, I know firsthand the nightmare to lose a loved one so violently. |
DP. Your assumption is that he was shot by someone that was in his entourage. But the reality of the situation is does anyone ever know who has a gun on them all the time? My aunt is a realtor and has a concealed carry permit (and is a very accomplished markswoman) and I’m positive there has been times when she has had her gun on her without people knowing. I’m positive she carries it when showing homes to new clients. My brother is also a cop and when he dropped something off at my house this week I was surprised he had his gun on him. It’s much easier to say regulate the proliferation of guns than it is for people to just know whenever they’re around people carrying guns. |
He wasn’t hanging out with realtors and cops, my friend. I get what you’re saying but this is not an equivalent comparison. |
Firs of all the people you cited are carrying guns as defensive not offensive weapons. Second, when your uncle is driving around with a gun on top of the center console and you’ve been arrested for gun possession before, I’m certain you know damn well the people you are with have guns. Finally, all those folks there and no one arrested yet. They loved him so much that no one is talking. Good people /s. |
She’s not wrong though. You are as good as the company you keep. |
Gotta be strapped in case someone challenges your basketball skillz and no court is available to prove your superiority so you cap them to squash the beef. Can't be rolling up on someone like that and not expect some blastin' on fools to go down |

The funeral is today. It's been a week and still no arrests.

All those people and no one saw a thing /s Raising money to combat gun violence while they carry guns and rap about shooting people. SMH. |
| The police have a person of interest and are investigating an argument that happened prior to the shooting. |
No they don't. As of yesterday. "Retired FBI Special Agent Dennis Franks says cases like these can be difficult to solve, but not impossible. Despite possible fear of retaliation in a high-profile shooting like this, he believes at some point, someone will speak up. "The difficulty lies in not knowing exactly everybody that was in the group," says Franks. "Now all it takes for that is one or two people to say, ‘These people were there.’ It's still pretty early, but time is of the essence to try to identify the shooter." |
That is a random general observation from a retired agent. I read an article yesterday where the Mayor said the police department is making good progress on the investigation. |
