What difference does it make if people buy their firearms on credit? Are lower income people not entitled to self defense? The judge in NY properly saw through the State’s attempt to end run a binding Supreme Court ruling. The whole “sensitive places” argument is a dodge. Businesses can already eject anyone for any reason or no reason at all. And I hate to break it to you, but tons of guns have long gone in and out of NY day cares every day, on the hips of their law enforcement clientele and the powerful, privileged, politically connected few who were the only ones who, until recently, could get carry permits in New York. Before Bruen, half the States were shall issue and there was no glut of toddlers maiming each other with firearms at day care.

As for “radical historical revisionism,” that’s precisely what Bruen got rid of. Even the briefest research will establish that Bruen is wholly in accord with the intent of the Framers.

Because he is the last person who should favor a world where “might makes right”, and weaker, smaller statured people are at the mercy of larger, physically stronger ones. Weapons are an equalizer, eliminating the advantage that size and brute physical strength give would-be assailants.

And you are particularly incorrect in the bolded portion, as well as in some of your other assertions. In my experience, people revert to training in those situations, and they function accordingly. I’m confused as to why you seem to think that “the average” CCWP holder only has 2 hours of range time? Do you not realize that “the average” CCP holder goes to a range many, many times annually? I shoot at least once a month locally, and sometimes every other weekend if we’re at our weekend place. I know lots of “average” people with permits, and nearly all of them practice at least monthly.

Why do you think that they’ve only been on a range 2 hours in their lives?

They commit crimes because they’re criminals. They belong to a subculture that treats laws as optional and puts personal perceived gain at the top of the list of motives for their (often impulsive) behavior. Like or hate “broken windows” policing, it showed that the same people committing serious, violent crimes are also the one evading subway fares and ignoring other small laws that contribute to an orderly society. There are lots of reasons for criminal behavior, but I really don’t buy in to the premise that “feeling insecure” is one of them.
