My son wears the same one or two hoodies for school every day. So long as it's clean, why would that be a problem?

I refuse to do laundry every 2 days just for this, so they’re not clean. She doesn’t care and wants to just wear them smelly/dirty.

She’s certainly old enough to do her own laundry.

It isn’t environmental friendly or economical for each family member to do “their own” laundry. I get the sentiment, but do people really do this?
.

Why would it be a problem? Washers have water sensors so you’re not wasting water. Even if yours doesn’t you can change the size of your load based on what’s in it. And you only use the amount of detergent for the size of your load. I don’t get the environmental or economical issue. But yes everyone in my family does their own laundry.

Why battle over school pictures? Going all the way back to preschool, we've always let our kids choose what they want to wear for this. We look back and see their school pictures as a true reflection of who they are that year.

Plus, in the age of digital cameras, we have other opportunties to get pictures of them dressed up for special occassions. Weddings/bar mitzvahs/big holidays involve a bit less choice on their part, in part because they're communal events. But we've always seen school pictures as first and foremost about THEM, so they get to be more authentic.

It isn’t just the amount of water and detergent…

You really don’t get how running multiple loads of laundry is more energy, more electrify, more gas..

I wear hoodies all the time if it's cool, and I am a grandmother. I am wearing one now. Shop at Hot Topic/ Spencer's. Buy band hoodies. That's what my kids loved, and they stole all of mine.

She'll continue to wear them in MS and HS OP so get used to it.

You were in fifth grade in 2000 and you have a tween/teen? I feel old.

Yrs, buy duplicates and call it a day. You know what she wants and so it seems easy enough to give it to her. It's also reasonable for her to request comfy clothes.

Thanks all. This is OP and I agree duplicates would be easiest, but the two favorites are items from last season and no longer in stock. Just looking for suggestions on stores with a good selection in tween sizes so I can have her choose some new ones.

A hoodie doesn't need to be washed after every wearing. Just have her wear a light Tshirt underneath.

And college and grad school and if she works in tech/media/music/sports (non camera), probably for the rest of her life

If you are American you can literally wear a hoodie of different weights/materials from birth to death daily

Super soft Gap hoodies (plain, no logo) are currently $27 for adult sizes. My 11yo boy wears an adult small. They have some cute colors. Agree on t-shirt underneath, so it doesn't need washing every time.
