+1. 73 year old mom has no grey. I'm 40 and don't have any. We are both blonde FWIW. |
| I noticed my first gray strand at 24. There were just a few till I turned 40 and my entire head also seemed to turn gray almost overnight. |
Agreed. My grandma is 91 and has no grays. She was a tow head when she was young, but is mostly a dirty blonde now. People didn’t realize she didn’t dye until Covid |

First gray hair at 36.
I’m 52 and have very little grey hair. A small sprinkling at crown. I’m probably 1/16th grey. Brunette. |
| Started in early 20s but it was v v slow to change until early 30s. Now I am late 30s and it’s probably almost 50% and speeding up it seems. So sad…the expense of dyeing my hair is quite high but I am not willing to be gray now. |
| Started going aggressively gray in my late 20s. I had dark brown hair and dyed it through my 30s. Went silver at 42-43 and no regrets (47 now). |
Same! I’m 35, no grays. Hair is light brown. My DH is 36 and has lots of gray, especially in his facial hair (his dad was mostly gray by 40). My mom is in her early 60s and has experienced more of a loss of pigment in her hair vs. going gray. Her auburn hair is more like strawberry blond now. She highlights it to add pigment, but doesn’t dye it. |
This. I’m 45 and have no gray. Same as my mother before me. |
| I'm 46 and have 3 strands. I'm light brunette, like level 6. |
If you color so often, are you just touching up the roots (v whole head)? |
|
I had individual white hairs starting in my 20s, and I think it started to be majority gray in my late 30s. Original color was blonde but it turned dishwater when I had kids.
I've been dying it light brown for years now but if I stopped I believe I'd be totally gray with white strands. I'm 42. |
| Fun fact, JLO has been all gray since her 20's |
| Started getting white hair in my mid-twenties. Now, at 53, I'm 100% white (but I still color for the time being). |
| I’m 43 and for about two years I have had about two gray hairs. |
