Food costs are up and places are trying to walk a thin line in trying to stay open. All meal costs will continue to spike for awhile. It’s fine to not support the businesses that are doing this, but understand that’s how we’ll end up with mostly soulless corporate chains over time.

FF is not a small business and we aren't talking small businesses. Several small businesses where we are actually did better with carryout and had to expand their space as they got os busy. They need to change their business model if its not working or close.

Ok take Founding Farmers out of the conversation. Are you in the industry?

No, but anyone who reads the news and pays attention can see a lot of it happening. Two of our local restaurants expanded - got more space, made improvements to online ordering - and made their own online ordering so no fees, etc. Those are the businesses we frequented regularly. We do carry out a few times a week.

We go to another restaurant nearby FF and FF is always busy or at least their outdoor patio is. So, what's their excuse?

Ugh. why not move this thread to the political forum? I'd rather talk about how the Scallops Meunière make me happy.

Says you’re too lazy to get new menus. I wouldn’t eat there.

It's still there! I just saw it on the menu.

We're midpoint 2023, and there is still a recovery charge

Clydes is doing this, but it's 3.5% I think.

Makes me crazy and it screws the waitstaff because many people drop their tip down to 15%.

BlackFinn is doing this as well and they are charging a fee if you use your credit card. Neither are in the menu.
