The money is not going to the employees and it’s not like they eliminated tips.

It pays for bs COVID things like vaccine clinics (that you can get at cvs).

That is all non-sense as the vaccines were free.

That was my poorly made point.

I agree. We are at a new normal. If you cannot make enough you need to change your business model or give up. Heck, be honest and raise your prices.

Most small businesses did not get enough from relief funds to not still be behind now. It’s easy to forget when you were able to work from home and order everything via delivery. Food costs are up and places are trying to walk a thin line in trying to stay open. All meal costs will continue to spike for awhile. It’s fine to not support the businesses that are doing this, but understand that’s how we’ll end up with mostly soulless corporate chains over time.

Just raise the prices 5% and be done with it.

Yes but I don’t see why all the PPs are having heart attacks over it.

Maybe the restaurant thinks patrons will simply start accepting this recovery fee like they accepted baggage fees on airlines 20 years ago...

Frankly, FF wasn't even worth it before the pandemic.

Not a FF fan, but now I like them even less.

Circumstances require that you raise your prices? Fine. Do that. Lots good restaurants did. We understand. We will still eat there.

Circumstances require that you raise your prices, and you do this weaselly, whiny thing where you somehow think we're supposed to . . . what? Not care? Feel sorry for you?

If there's no way around a charge that you have decided to impose, just fold it into the price. I don't tell you how I earned enough to eat at your establishment by working at a job with certain frustrations that I expect you to listen to. That's not the deal.

Most did raise their prices and are charging the fees.

FF is not a small business and we aren't talking small businesses. Several small businesses where we are actually did better with carryout and had to expand their space as they got os busy. They need to change their business model if its not working or close.
