I love them. I looked at used prices and even some new prices at dealerships. It is insane how much above MSRP they are going for. I will have to get on the waiting list for a new one.

And yet I’ve owned 4 generations Jeep Wranglers going all the way back to 1995, all of which I put a minimum of 120k miles on or more, without any major issues in any of them.

How’s that happen?

The fender flares are flexible and designed to be resistant to damage, and if they are damaged, can be easily replaced by the owner instead of needing a trip to the body shop and a $$$$ bill for bodywork.

The engineers who designed Jeeps going back as far as the CJ-7’s of the 1970’s were not stupid people. They came up with a form that functioned, and they stayed with it. Much as how Porsche has done with the 911 series. The vehicle is what it is because it’s designed that way. A lot of very practical thinking went into it. There’s something worth respecting there.
