That is not intermittent fasting. That sounds exactly like my old room mate who was anorexic and bulimic.

This is actually the definition of IF. How in the world are you diagnosing anyone when they literally wrote - I eat whatever for dinner. Salads are very healthy and filling and can often be high caloric. You are far from a doctor.

This. Just because an app tells you to do something doesn't mean it's safe.

Of course it's safe. That is more than a "safe" amount of calories. It's just unpleasant.

Exactly. 1200 is more than enough to support a healthy thriving life! And it's perfectly safe.

I think I am not making the right food choices because I feel like I am eating very little and am constantly hungry. I think part of the problem is that I eat a lot of high cal foods like olive oil (to sauté veggies or for salad dressing - but just 1T at a time), and love to add cheese and avocado to meals or snack on nuts (but am eating a small portion). I don’t even eat breakfast so most of this is simply coming from breakfast and lunch.

If you eat around 1,200 calories per day can you share what you eat? I guess I need some inspiration for different things to try so I can hopefully eat a little more.

Focus on eating high volume foods --- leafy greens, low calorie soups, berries. If you need a snack, Skinnypop is a lot of volume for the calories. Good luck!!!!

Yeah, except it’s not. Very hard to get adequate nutrients, protein, etc on just 1200 calories for anyone over 5 feet.

I just east smaller portions. I fill up fast. I don't know why or how.

I disagree, some of us are short and 1200 is what’s required in order to lose. It’s not that drastic. 600 cals at dinner. 400 at lunch. 200 cals for breakfast or small snack mid day.

This just isn’t true. It’s too little for a large person, but fine for someone who is petite and not overly active.

thats so stupid... the reason you lose weight when you eat healthier is beacuse you end up eating less calories. a big salad full of nutrients with some grilled protein is healthy, is a lot in VOLUME, but is not a lot in calories. 1200 calories is perfectlty fine for most women who are not very tall or very big. It just means that all the calries you eat need to have a purpose and be nutritious.

1200 cal diets dont allow for any empty calories if you want to feel full and stay healthy (no sweets, white carbs, sugary drinks included natural juices, no added sugar, no dessert and ideally no alcolohol).

OP is 5'6" 150 lb. That's tall /big enough for 1200 to be unhealthy.

Sorry, but no. I’m sorry you’ve been lied to. You will understand in 20 years when your bones are brittle.

1200 calories per day is disordered eating.

Lol, I don’t eat 1200 calories a day. I probably eat 1800 calories a day, hence why I’m maintaining weight, and not losing.

Well then you don’t need to eat 1200 calories a day to lose weight….
