| Could be safeties for some |
It’s a safety for DD. She got into ASU and is now applying to their honors college. We live in AZ and her HS (private) requires everyone to apply to at least one in state school. She’s hoping to get the rest of the applications in by Nov 1. |
That’s annoying. My school heavily pushed our state school and I flat out refused to even apply. I would have been livid if it was “required” |
| We live in Virginia and had our anxious child apply to VCU due to their rolling admissions. Worth it just to circumvent the “I am not getting in anywhere” verbal loop. |
Congrats!! First Penn State response I’ve seen. DS applied early August but no word yet. |
Congratulations to all who already received admittances, no matter where and for what reason.
You kid will go to college and that in itself is something to celebrate. |
Yes. They may be “safeties” but my kid didn’t apply anywhere they wouldn’t be excited to attend. Many rolling schools are large T-100 Universities who offer generous merit. |
Have you heard from VCU? My dd is waiting and sent in application on August 3rd. Last we heard they were behind. |
Ehh, it’s known when you apply to go there it’s required . Lots actually do since they have a dual enrollment program where, depending on the classes you’ve taken you can essentially start a state school with enough credits to be a Junior. |
Is Penn State rolling or EA? I am confused as I heard that it was rolling but on its website it has Nov 1 as EA deadline. We are looking for CS at their main campus. |
I thought rolling, too, but have also seen conflicting things. I am the pp quoted btw. Portal showed "complete and under review" last they checked. |
| Has anyone whose kid was admitted to Pitt heard about merit scholarship? DC was admitted to engineering with graduate program guaranteed admission but we don’t know if they’ll accept until we have the cost. |
October. |
This is what DC received for A&S. Sounds like we'll know more soon! Congrats! |
Congrats to your DC as well! |
