How much would you pay for this?

I would not pay anything for this but I understand that you need to make the blog worthwhile and that you have things to offer. Since you have a lot of readers maybe move to substack? you could do some of your outings for paying subscribers only.

I would pay for someone to cater a play date or maybe if it came with a really sweet gift bag. So the only way I could see this working is if you found a sponsor that gave you stuff for free and then sold it as, over $100 value for $20. Like for example, get a really good face painter, a mommy and me music act, a “healthy” snack bag, a creative activity, all from your relationships where vendors can promote themselves and then sell tickets

I wouldn’t pay for this. What is the value added vs me just going myself with some friends? I wouldn’t want a goodie bag, that’s just extra stuff to throw away. Parking — how difficult is it to find that information for 99% of places?

The value is in curating information, not being a local travel guide. You’re not talking about VIP passes to a secret lounge. These are all publicly accessible.

I would read your blog! And I might also pay $20 for something like you're describing, though it would totally depend on the outing.

Is your blog public? If so, mind linking?

This would have been great 15-20 years ago. Newly monetized blogs that actually make good money are not really a thing. The old school bloggers have that locked down and newer ones use IG/Tik Tok/etc. and a lot of the OG blogs have become hate reads for a lot of people.

Now, with all the information more easily available, not worth it. You could advertise it as a paid play group, but then it would need to be specific to ages/activities and I don’t think that’s what you’re going for.

I think it could work if it wasn't a playdate. I wouldn't pay to know where the good parking is at a park or playground to meet strangers. Create a class where you do the work and cleaning parents don't want to do, but creating the memory they want.

For example, making a stepping stone with the child's hand prints. Or decorating gingerbread houses. Something where it would be cheap for you to have all the materials in bulk but you're essentially charging for the planning, prep, and cleanup. I went to one of these and it was a K teacher who started with some songs and a story and then they made cake pops. It was a full class (about an hour) and the kids loved it. Parents just kinda sat back and watched. People would pay $20 for that.

If OP already works FT and is looking for side hustle this would be a grind. Plus this stuff obviously exists. OP isn’t offering anything new or current.

No one is going to pay you for this.

I already work FT. The blog is pretty time consuming (in order to get free stuff I really do have to keep it looking good and hold onto my readers). But I’d like to make $ from it not just get swag from time to time.

Great, but no one is forcing you to do your mommy blog.

+1. There needs to be some value added.

blogs are back in the form of newsletter. a lot of people are making money this way.

OP, i reiterate my advice to move to substack. the interface is excellent and the setup will help you understand how many people are ready to pay for your content. once you have the list of your subscribers you will be able to advertise various add-ons, such as special outings you envisioned.

I would have paid for this when my kids were young - I had 3 under 4, worked full time, and usually took kids out of my own each week as DH works a lot.

Easily would have paid $20 - we would go to places like badlands, which I thought was stupid, but it my kids were contained and could run around safely so we went. I think I regularly dropped $80 to go there or busy bees. Both honestly not that good but a place to go with the kids. Would have loved to go outdoorsy stuff but I am not going to try anything with my three kids for the first time unless it’s been vetted, and I don’t have the time to go myself to check it out.

For me it would be less about concierge service and more about paying for the planning. And if it went well I would tell all my friends- there are tons of parents with not enough time and plenty of disposable income who are willing to pay to facilitate fun for our kids.

Frankly I would probably still pay for this now, but my kids are older so there are fewer weekends where we have nothing to do anymore.

No I wouldn’t pay for this and having been to several meetup groups in years past even if you are the best extrovert it’s hard to get a group of strangers together and have them enjoy it enough to talk it up or come back.

In regards to the blog - work on developing a following on insta and tik tom - then you can continue to update your blog on occasion and point those users to it

affiliate programs is the way to go for those who aren’t getting brand deals yet

one of the ways that mommy bloggers made decent money was to build up an audience and then post about how others can start blogging. they would become an affiliate for bluehost and they started making money from those who would follow their easy steps and buy domains etc

it takes a while to build up a following - on social media you need to cultivate a certain look and then stick to it and make sure all you out platforms have that look

best of luck
