How much would you pay for this?

Anonymous
I would work on promoting the "best products for moms" and then use affiliate links to generate income. If you click on an Amazon affiliate link, the person who posted the link gets a percentage of whatever you purchase that day, not just if the direct link was purchased. Some people can make a lot of money that way.

I could see doing this one or two times if I was new to a city, new to being a SAHM etc. After I found a couple people, I would not keep going.

There are endless facebook groups and things with people posting free detailed outings and ideas. The value of your group would be meeting other people that are also actively looking to meet people, without having to sort through Peanut or something. Once that goes is accomplished post people would probably break off from group

Hi OP,

Good luck with your blog. I can see some value in it for parents with younger kids. I may have paid $20 for something like this before my kids were in school. My spouse and I both work, so outsourcing planning is worth it for me. That being said, I would only do it if it were convenient for me and something that I thought was interesting. Now that my kids are in elementary school (K and 1), I am mostly managing their activities, play dates, and birthday parties.

Good luck!

You don't need to "monetize your blog." If you really need money, ditch the blog and get a part-time job.

No one is going to pay you for this.

Apparently I’m in the minority, since I’d be interested in this and $20 sounds reasonable to me. But that comes with a major caveat that the activity would have to be a short (<30 minute) drive from home, or something the kids really, really wanted to do.

I think there is a market for this, but it might not be big enough to really make any money from it.

Definitely- see the original post about me being lazy. By “lazy” I mean that I like to do things that are very convenient- so the drive time in important.

I already work FT. The blog is pretty time consuming (in order to get free stuff I really do have to keep it looking good and hold onto my readers). But I’d like to make $ from it not just get swag from time to time.

Thank you that is a great idea!

And most of us are resourceful enough to find interesting local places independently. Without a blog.

+1. You sound ridiculous

Yeah I think affiliate links and sponsor content are generally how most bloggers and other influencer types make money these days

The “resourcefulness” you are referring to is probably blogs and web content.

Why are you all so mean to OP? It’s weird how snarky you all got so fast, shooting her down.

When I was new to Dc and my kids were younger I would have paid $20 for this. Like others have said though, once my kids were older and I was more established in the area, my involvement and willingness to pay would have waned. Maybe gear it toward people who are new to the area somehow?

Good luck!

It’s not mean to say the service offered isn’t one that appeals.

I would do this if it was like a concierge service (pay $20 and me and my kid just show up and you have parking, water bottles, passes, maps, etc ready.

Tbh though someone invited me to Tinkergarten once and I actually laughed out loud. These people want you to pay them to go outside in nature and play with your own child? I can do that for free on a Tuesday, Charlotte.
