I'm an RMIB grad — ask me anything.

Basically, did your RMIB teachers provide feedback on your writing?

It's a mix of both. I wasn't the strongest writer going in — don't think I ever scored higher than a B on a freshman English commentary — but improved a lot during my time there, and now write for a living. We had to do a lot of writing so it only makes sense that we all improved and the teachers were absolutely instrumental. When I got to college I was horrified by some of my peers' writing, and my studies heavily focused on writing.

Have fun with it. You'll be working on these projects for months so make sure you pick something you actually enjoy.

This is one of the reasons why I was glad my STEM focused DC went to RMIB. I thought DC needed to focus on their weakest area, writing. DC told me that a lot of IB students found RMS 9th grade English to be the hardest class. Lots of Cs in the first writing assignments. I think it burst their ego bubbles. LOL. DC tells me that their writing has improved tremendously after three years in RMIB. DC can see the difference when they go back and read 9th grade assignments.

So yea, 100% agree, RMIB is fantastic for improving writing skills.

If I get a B or an undesired grade in an IB class, can I re-take it?

I was terribly depressed during senior year from a combination of college apps, family issues, relationship drama, and some other stuff. My grades were slipping and I dreaded going to school because I felt like I didn’t have friends. Maybe that wouldn’t have happened if I went somewhere else, but maybe it would’ve been even worse. I don’t know. When I graduated, all I felt was relief that it was over. I got the fantastic education that I wanted but I also left feeling empty.

I'm sorry you went through this OP and happy to hear you are in a great place now. DC also had some dark times in the program but used the word "relief" when it was over so I get it. When you say empty did you mean like depleted empty or just hollow because it wasn't fulfilling?

Did you take the IB exams? If so, we’re you properly prepared for the exams? Did you earn the IB diploma?
