It's a mix of both. I wasn't the strongest writer going in — don't think I ever scored higher than a B on a freshman English commentary — but improved a lot during my time there, and now write for a living. We had to do a lot of writing so it only makes sense that we all improved and the teachers were absolutely instrumental. When I got to college I was horrified by some of my peers' writing, and my studies heavily focused on writing.[/quote]
This is one of the reasons why I was glad my STEM focused DC went to RMIB.  I thought DC needed to focus on their weakest area, writing.  DC told me that a lot of  IB students found RMS 9th grade English to be the hardest class.  Lots of Cs in the first writing assignments.  I think it burst their ego bubbles. LOL.  DC tells me that their writing has improved tremendously after three years in RMIB.  DC can see the difference when they go back and read 9th grade assignments.

So yea, 100% agree, RMIB is fantastic for improving writing skills.[/quote]
